1. Virtua Fighter 2- The pinnacle of the Virtua Fighter series. It added fantastic graphics to the stellar gameplay of the original. VF 2 also added two new characters to the mix, and tons of new and exciting moves.
2. Virtua Fighter The pioneer of 3D fighting games. The first fully polygonal fighting game in history. The gameplay  featured in it set the standard for 3D fighting games to come. The original eight characters in the series were the most memorable ones in the series.

3. Street Fighter 2 This legendary game revolutionized the arcade market in the early 90s with itsÀÀ addictive gameplay and memorable characters. It marked the biggest step forward that fighting games had ever seen, and marked the biggest arcade boom since the PacMan days.

4. Bushido Blade Brought true realism to the 3D fighting world. The swordfighting action was fast, furious, exciting, and best of all, true to life. If you got hit in the arm with a sword strike, that arm went limp. If your leg got smacked with the sword, it went out on you. A single blow to the head or chest could fell either you or your opponent, so you have to be on guard at all times in order to avoid certain peril.

5. Tekken One of the first big time 3D fighting games after the first Virtua Fighter launched the genre into the stratosphere. Its innovative control scheme, which mapped one limb to a button on the arcade cabinet (or PSX controller) stands the test of time very well. The games innovative use of cinema scenes for the PlayStation version set the stage for cinema scenes to be used more often.

6. Toukon Retsuden The first 3D wrestling game in history. Featured things that havent been seen since, like the ability to save matches to a memory card.

7. King of Fighters 94 This is the first game in the KoF series, and in my opinion, the best of the bunch.

8. Tekken 2 Added tons of characters and modes to the original. Also added some more charm to the series.

9. Virtua Fighter 4 Set the graphical standards for 3D fighting games. Featured two new characters that added their own unique charm to the series.

10. Saturday Night Slam Masters Fast, furious fighting/wrestling game hybrid from Capcom that saw an arcadeperfect port on the SNES, and a revised version for the Genesis that took out the tag team battle royal mode, but added a death match mode in its place for two players that used a rigged up ring from the second Slam Masters game.

11. Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 The first 3D game to incorporate shoot fighting elements in it. The shoot fights in wrestling rings remind me of Pride FC. The fantastic Aki engine works its  magic in this All Japan Pro Wrestling licensed classic.

12. Firepro Wrestling D The best Firepro game in history. The first wrestling game to have online features via the downloadable moves.

13. Virtual Pro Wrestling The Asmik game that started Aki off on their way. The pioneering game for the Aki engine. Was ported and butchered in the U.S. as WCW vs. the World.

14. Tekken 3 Featured even more revisions to the classic Tekken formula than the second did. Featured even more zany characters than the second game. The PSX port of it added tons of new modes to further extend the life of the game.

15. Bushido Blade 2 Featured a revised version of the original gameplay that the first game did. Not as much fun though.

16. Street Fighter II Turbo Many consider it to be the finest SF game ever made. I think its one of the most fun to play.

17. Street Fighter 2 Alpha Perhaps the best SF game from a gameplay perspective. The characters dont quite have the charm that some of the characters from earlier SF games though.

18. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo One of the finest Street Fighter games ever made. Featured a balance that hadnÀÀt been seen in SF games before. The Akuma code is the stuff of legend.

19. Fire Pro Wrestling (GBA) The second Firepro game to reach the U.S. One of the finest Firepro games ever. The best portable wrestling game of all time.

20. Virtual On Action packed mech battling stands the test of time well.

21. Virtua Fighter Remix Revised version of the original VF for the Saturn. Featured graphics right below the quality of VF 2 on the Saturn. Also featured a couple of moves per character from VF 2. Amazing game considering it was free.

22. All Japan Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua Fantastic wrestling game that made fantastic use of Segas Wolf and Jeffrey characters from the VF series. Ironically enough, the Wolf Hawkfield character would eventually be used in All Japan, played by Jim Steele.

23. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 One of the most frenetic fighting games ever. Perhaps the best game in Capcoms series.

24. Samurai Showdown II One of SNKs crowning achievements for fighting games. The best Samurai Showdown game ever with the most memorable characters that the series had ever seen.

25. Street Fighter Alpha 3 The final Alpha game was a fitting end to the series. Brought back Cody from the Final Fight games, which I enjoyed immensely.
