STINGY Manchester United are so strapped for cash under new owner Malcolm Glazer they made some of their players pay for tickets to the Carling Cup final.
짠돌이 맨유가 말콤 글레이저의 맨유 인수 이후 돈이 없어서, 칼링컵 결승전을 관람하려고 한 맨 유 선수들에게 자비로 티켓을 구입하여 경기를 관람하도록 했다.

Several United youngsters, who had helped the club progress in the earlier rounds of the competition, were told to fork out for their own tickets to the final against Wigan.
몇 명의 맨유의 젊은 선수들은 자신들이 맨유가 칼링컵 결승전에 오르는 것을 도왔음에도 불구하고(초반 라운드 출장) 위건과의 결승전 관람을 위해 티켓을 구입하여야만 했다.

United youngsters including Lee Martin, Adam Eckersley and Ritchie Jones - who played in three ties - were told they had to stump up £72 if they wanted a pair of tickets to the Millennium Stadium. For previous finals, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson did everything in his power to ensure all his players and back-room staff had complimentary tickets as a reward for their hard work.
맨유의 젊은 선수들...칼링 컵에서 3 경기를 뛰었던...리 마틴, 애덤 에커슬리, 리치 존스...등은 결승전 티켓 2장을 구하려고 하면...72파운드를 내라는 얘기를 들었다...이전에는 퍼거슨 경이 모든 선수와 팀 관계자들에게 그들의 노고에 대한 보상으로 공짜 티켓을 구하려고 노력하곤 했다.

But United are clearly feeling the pinch following Glazer's controversial £790million takeover and it is understood there was anger at the decision to make players pay for their own tickets.
그러나 말콤 글레이저의 맨 유 인수이후...맨유는 돈이 부족한 고통을 느끼고 있으며...팀에서는 선수들에게 자비로 티켓을 구입하도록 한 결정에 대해 분노가 있었다...

Even some of United's commercial staff, including long-standing marketing director Peter Draper, were forced to pay their own way to watch the club beat Wigan 4-0 in Cardiff.
심지어 맨유에 오랬동안 근무한 마케팅 담당자 피터 드레이퍼 등  영업부 부서 직원들도 자비로 티켓을 구입하여야 했다...

United received 100 complimentary tickets for the final to be shared among the families and friends of the players, management and coaching staff, as well as 30 extra VIP tickets.
맨유는 100장의 공짜 티켓을 선수의 가족과 친구 그리고 구단 직원과 코칭 스태프를 위해 배정 받았으며...추가로 30장의 VIP티켓을 역시 받았었다...
